For the recovery of Ukraine, not only the interaction of communities and regions of our state is important, but also the consolidated support of international partners.
Such an opinion was expressed by Andrii Besedin, head of the Kupyansk CMA, during the Second International Summit of Cities and Regions.
“Unfortunately, our country, our communities and regions are suffering from a racist invasion, shelling, and destruction. We understand that sooner or later it will end with the victory of our state and we will begin to recover. But in order to recover, we need not only the consolidated support of all communities and regions of our state, but also international partners who can help restore the most affected industries,” he emphasized.
According to the head of the Kupyansk Military Administration, the Summit of Cities and Regions is important in this process, because at it you can “find new partners who will help and with whom you can establish a dialogue and sign memoranda.”
Andriy Besedin also noted that it is currently impossible to carry out the restoration process in Kupyansk. However, the community is already developing mechanisms for action after the cessation of active hostilities and the de-occupation of neighboring communities.
At the same time, according to the head of Kup’yansk, it is necessary to cooperate with EU representatives, because this will contribute to better European integration of Ukraine.
“Various areas need modernization and restoration. We want to go to Europe. And this process has been going on for 30 years, but apart from declarations, we do nothing. It is necessary to move, to take better from our international partners in every area of community life. For example, education, medicine, culture, housing and communal services, etc. To introduce the best methods and practices that they already have, and to make us real Europeans,” emphasized Andriy Besedin.
