Khmelnytskyi region actively cooperates with international partners. The main areas are health care, support for internally displaced persons and children’s leisure time.

During the Second International Summit of Cities and Regions, Serhiy Tyurin, head of the Khmelnytskyi RMA, told about this.

“We closely cooperate with international projects that provide building materials for rapid recovery. Partners also help in the field of health care. In particular, we opened an operating theater where our servicemen and internally displaced persons, as well as residents of our region, are treated. We cooperate closely in the issue of rest for the children of our fallen heroes, military personnel and internally displaced persons. During 2023, we sent them on vacation to Croatia and Poland. It is also important that we receive humanitarian aid. This includes equipment for fire departments, various equipment, food products for internally displaced persons. There are many joint projects that we implement and plan to implement,” said the head of Khmelnytskyi.

The head of the region also talked about the positive influence of the Summit of Cities and Regions on establishing ties with international partners. According to him, this site is designed to “maximize the establishment of cooperation between international partners, attract help and keep in focus the needs that Ukraine lives by.”

“The Second International Summit of Cities and Regions is a unique platform for establishing cooperation between our international partners and cities and regions of Ukraine. This site is taking place for the second time and it showed itself as effectively as possible. For example, last year we met with our partners from Poland. We continue communication with them and during the year we sent children on vacation, opened new departments in hospitals and did many other things,” emphasized Serhii Tyurin.

The head of Khmelnytskyi RMA also noted that communication with international partners is not only about assistance for Ukraine. Thanks to it, representatives of the world community can better understand the processes and phenomena taking place in our country. Such as, for example, a shortage of electricity due to shelling or the need to provide housing for internally displaced persons.
