The Second International Summit of Cities and Regions became a platform where representatives of different levels of government can communicate with international partners.

This is the opinion of the head of the village of Ivanivka (Chernihiv region) Olena Shvydka.

“It is very important to hold such events. This is my second time at the summit. This is exactly the platform where managers of different levels have the same chance to communicate with international guests and establish connections. Therefore, this is a very big chance for communities. In particular, such small ones as Ivanivka,” said Olena Shvydka.

Also, the leader of Ivanivka believes that such cooperation not only helps communities, but also contributes to the development of the whole of Ukraine.

Olena Shvydka also spoke about the situation in the Ivanivka community. According to her, a number of international partners are currently helping the de-occupied communities.

“My community has been de-occupied for two years now. And we are engaged in its restoration. Various public organizations, volunteers, the state are involved in the restoration, but also international donors. The Republic of Latvia helps us the most in restoring housing for people. And now we are negotiating with them regarding further cooperation,” Olena Shvydka emphasized.
