American philanthropist Dell Loy Hansen on the site of the Second International Summit of Cities and Regions declared his readiness to help Ukraine now.

According to him, the Americans are already ready to provide support to internally displaced persons and other groups of Ukrainians, without waiting for the end of the war.

“We want to build basic houses for people whose houses have been destroyed. And in 6 months we have already built 450 houses. During this time, we realized that we have to rebuild communities that will have everything: schools, food, recreational areas, health care facilities,” said Dell Loy Hansen.

Currently, the philanthropist founded and implemented the project “Hansen’s Village” in Tarasivka and Boyarka, Kyiv region.

“We have already completed the construction of 461 houses for 2,000 people. I hope that by the end of next year we will have 1,000 houses for 5,000 people. We want to have a very powerful community, to meet people who want to build Ukraine. We have blueprints to build 16 houses in 5 months for $940,000. And they are ready for construction today,” said Dell Loy Hansen.

According to him, now it is important to focus on the revival of communities and the creation of quality life for internally displaced persons. This will improve the level of the Ukrainian economy.

“But we need to focus on restoring dignity and hope to people whose homes, schools and community centers have been destroyed. This is about focusing on people, on the community, and then Ukraine will be able to grow economically. We focus on housing, medicine, and education. In particular, modern education allows people to enter the European and American spheres of influence. Learning English, immersing in an English-speaking environment helps to better cooperate with the EU,” the philanthropist believes.
