In the Mykolaiv region, 27 out of 52 communities are currently directly covered by international cooperation.

This was announced by the head of Mykolayiv Region Military Administration Vitaly Kim at the site of the Second International Summit of Cities and Regions.

“Our international partners have specializations in which they are the best. For example, demining, medical aid, displaced persons, humanitarian aid. We are not trying to have one organization help with everything. What they are best at is helping communities. Currently, 27 out of 52 communities of Mykolaiv Oblast are directly covered by international cooperation,” the head of the region emphasized.

Vitaly Kim also noted that currently Denmark has taken over the Mykolaiv region. As part of this cooperation, more than 75.5 million euros were sent to the region from the partner country alone. About 300 million euros were transferred by other countries for the reconstruction of Mykolaiv Oblast.

Also, the head of the Mykolayiv RMA emphasized the importance of the Congress of local and regional authorities under the President of Ukraine and the Summit platform for establishing cooperation with the international community.

“It is very important and honorable that we are meeting in Ukraine and discussing international cooperation and assistance to Ukraine with representatives of Europe. Indeed, now the situation is getting complicated and we need help not only a lot, but also quickly. Due to the fact that active military operations are currently taking place almost throughout the territory bordering Russia. The situation is accelerating, so it is important that this Summit be effective and useful,” Vitaly Kim believes.
