Ivano-Frankivsk region actively promotes the adaptation of military personnel who have returned from the combat zone. It also fully supports them and their families.
This was reported by the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Military Administration Svitlana Onyshchuk.
“The issue of adaptation to civilian life for demobilised servicemen is now an important one for us. At the level of the state and our region, the veteran policy is being effectively implemented, and we have created a department of people who took part in hostilities. In Ivano-Frankivsk region, this department is headed by a combat defender who was directly at the front. It is also important for us to support the families of heroes, the families of our fallen heroes who gave their lives for Ukraine. In our region, we have a unique project called “Caring for a Hero’s Family”. Thanks to this programme, we have managed to support those families who need it most”, she said.
The rehabilitation of military personnel is also an important issue for the region’s leadership.
“There are 21 rehabilitation centres contracted with the National Health Service in Prykarpattia. And we continue to improve the rehabilitation and treatment processes. We are creating state-of-the-art medical facilities that help our guys recover both physically and psychologically”, said Svitlana Onyshchuk.
The head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Military Administration also emphasises that approximately 150,000 internally displaced persons currently live in the region. And thanks to the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine, interaction with them is much better.
In addition, this platform also helps with other issues that Ivano-Frankivsk region has been facing for a long time.
“We have a lot of floods. Both in 2020 and, unfortunately, in 2023, we faced the elements. Houses were damaged and flooded. We discussed this issue at the Congress. Thanks to such an effective platform, the right decisions were made that helped to provide financial assistance to the victims, create various programmes and measures that will be aimed at a comprehensive solution in the future, preventing the consequences of floods in the region”, said Svitlana Onyshchuk.
