Russian troops blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station last night. Hundreds of communities downstream are affected by flooding. Settlements on the banks of the Dnipro river and its upstream reservoirs will suffer from a decrease in water level.

The technological processes at the Zaporizhzhia NPS, which the occupiers have already put at significant risk from the very beginning of the occupation (from the first weeks of the full-scale invasion), are in danger.

Russians have caused a large-scale terroristic strike on the agricultural potential of downstream of Dnipro river and on the vulnerable ecosystems of the floodplains of one of the largest rivers in Europe.

Russians have destroyed an extremely important critical infrastructure facility – dam and HPS which ensured energy, water and environmental stability in southern Ukraine.

We appeal on the international community, heads of communities all over the world who supports Ukraine, our regions and cities at all possible levels to join to the punishment of the aggressor and to an adequate response to the disaster.
