The site of the International Summit of Cities and Regions plays an important role in communication with international partners. In particular, Ukrainian regions have the opportunity to once again remind about the importance of helping our communities.
Nataliya Zabolotna, the first deputy head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, shares this opinion.
“Representatives of the largest international organizations are present at the Summit, we have the opportunity to appeal to them again and emphasize that it is not time to cut aid. It’s time to work further and be close to us,” she emphasized.
Natalia Zabolotna spoke about the current problems of Vinnytsia. According to her, the region remains one of those that receives forced migrants from the frontline regions.
In particular, currently more than 150,000 internally displaced persons live in the Vinnytsia region. And, taking into account the deterioration of the situation at the front, this number will grow.
“The same problems remain in our regions. In particular, if we are talking about the need to evacuate the elderly and people with reduced mobility. Currently, there are not enough places for them in Ukraine, they need to be created. Unfortunately, the regional and state budgets of Ukraine are already running out. This is where international support and help is desperately needed,” said the first deputy head of the Vinnytsia RMA.
She drew attention to the effectiveness of the Summit in solving the problems of Vinnytsia. In particular, in the year that passed after the First International Summit of Cities and Regions, the region has already established cooperation with the Liberec region of the Czech Republic.
As a result of the visit to the Vinnytsia region, the partners allocated funds for the creation of places for internally displaced persons with disabilities. Currently, the process of their arrangement is underway.
“Work has begun to create 40 new places for internally displaced persons with disabilities. That is, this is a specific result from the first to the second summit. This confirms its importance,” Nataliya Zabolotna said.
